So who do you get rid of before next season? Zito for bad trades and no future prospects, Maurice who sounds depressing and did nothing to improve the team, or players such as Ekblad who value had greatly diminished.

Here's the Panthers' game plan for tonight:
1. Initiate as many unnecessary board battles as possible. Whenever a Panther gets possession, treat the puck like a hot potato and dump it into the corner or around the back of the boards, even if there are open Panthers and open ice available.
2. If #1 is not possible, just pass it straight to the nearest Ottawa Senator. Even better if this happens in the Panthers' D zone right in front of Bob.
3. Try to go down 0-2 as quickly as possible, preferably by the 10-minute mark of the first period.
4. Act as if the team is really concerned about being down. Discuss "we have to play our style of hockey" and "we need to tighten things up" during the first intermission interview.
5. Don't be obvious about it, but give up at least 3 penalties in the second period. One should be a too-many-men-on-the-ice penalty; the others can be hooking, tripping, or slashing. Allow Ottawa to score at least 2 power play goals in the second period.
6. If the Panthers get a power play, just pass the puck backwards and skate in circles in the defensive zone for a while, then when approaching the offensive zone, either give it straight to the nearest Senator or dump it for another board battle. Be sure to commit both an offside and icing infraction on the power play. If the opportunity presents itself, give up a shorty.
7. In the second intermission, be sure to to discuss the need to cut down on penalties.
8. In the third period, keep dumping the puck and let the clock run out. Don't expend any unnecessary energy. Ekblad should take a penalty with 5 or 6 minutes remaining.
9. The goal is to lose 6-2 but make it seem like it should have been 12-3, so it appears to be a moral victory and we can still have confidence in Paul Maurice.

There, now you don't have to watch tonight because the whole script has been revealed for you.

You can tell the Panthers have already conceded the season. Clean their lockers out and fire the coach before the season is over.

At least we can watch the upcoming rookies in our farm system to see what the future looks like. Oh, I forgot we don't have any. I cannot wait for the draft to see what our number-one pick will be. Oh, we don't have one. I cannot wait to see them fire this coach. Oh I forgot he has a three year contract and Zito loves him.

at least you can always look forward to drafting solid players in the first round in 2024 and 2025.

Don't feel bad for us. The players are chomping at the bit for the season to end so they can get out on their yachts and go to the golf courses. Why go to the stupid playoffs when you can do that?

The Panthers traded their 2024 first-draft pick to the Flyers along with Owen Tippett for Giroux and a lower pick. We traded our 2025 first-draft pick for a part of the Tkuchuk deal. They are both protected. That being said, with Maurice at the helm for two more years the Panthers will retain those picks because we will be in the league's basement. Samoskevich is still playing college hockey. He's two years out from auditioning for the Panthers.

This sums it up on the season. Despite all the injuries....that every team faces.

I had a gut in my stomach when coaching was announced the team was doomed...

The hiring of Paul Maurice.....after an illustrious career all he has walked away with is an Eastern Conference Chumpionship with Carolina. Why not hire/re-hire Brunette knowing what happened and what they could improve upon....or hell hire a winning college coach just like what the Rangers and Seattle now have with a good team that are going places. And god forbid hire Torts, the most hated players coach in hockey....but at least they would have a chance. Maurice....seriously....didn't his tenure in Winterpeg give you the insight that he is not a winner???!!!

Aaron Ekblad as much as I love him and i saw him trotting around in Trader Joe's for Thanksgiving years back with his parents.....what a bad (horrendous) year. Brooks Koepka thanks for the balls to call it out as it is for all season long performance.

Congrats to all the players on the team this year for your best effort and Gudas, please re-sign.
